This week, Ford selected the winner of its 2015 Ford Model T design competition. Ironically, the contest to redesign the original all-American car for the 21st century was won by the only team from Europe to enter. The team of 8 students from Aachen University in Germany won $25,000 for their idea of what the new-school Tin Lizzie might look like. Incorporating design cues from the original, the new model T features a 3-seater design with room behind the occupants for a small pickup bed. With CAFE regulations tightening down, environmental performance will without a doubt be of major importance in 2015, so the design's 100g/km of carbon emissions likely helped its chances against the competition. That, plus it's estimated build cost of only $6,780, combined with the potential for hybrid and electric powertrains, make this a car many would likely want to see at dealers someday soon. How do you feel about the contest winner?
