Though mind controlled objects and interfaces have been around for years, none have ever been used to quickly and safely navigate a physical object, until today. Toyota claims to have developed the fastest brain analyzing system, parsing about 8 signals per second. When the system was mated to wheelchair, the user is able to move forward, left, and right almost instantly. In order to stop the wheelchair, the user must puff out his cheeks.
Though this is a huge step forward for personal mobility, Toyota says they have no plans to commercialize the technology.
