Designed to be more of smooth lounge on wheels than a conventional people mover, the ATNMBL will represent a major shift in the auto industry if it was ever to be built. The designers of this obtrusive vehicle are the same ones who design the Google G1 phone for T-Mobile and the XBOX 360 for Microsoft. According to the designers the vehicle is one that does not focus too heavily on style and performance by rather on people's needs.
The ATNMBL, which stands for autonomobile, has no steering wheel, literally will drive itself where ever you tell it, seats seven and even features a bar. The ATNMBL is an all-electric vehicle that receives its energy from roof mounted solar panels. What I like most about this vehicle is that it has a remote that gives you the option of taking the fastest route, the most efficient route, or the scenic route and also displays your estimated time of arrival. This idea is so innovative it just might work. As most of today's cars are heavy and overpowered, it is about time someone change the nearly century's old configuration of what car should be.
We doubt this vehicle will make it to market anytime soon, but this is still an interesting concept.
theCD's take: I wonder how a car with this much glass will perform in a crash test.

I've been trying to follow electric powercycle culture - these things seem sweet for college commuters. Check em out:

I think the best way to market these things to college students is as their personal designated driver.
