Probably one of the most anticipated and rumored vehicles to come out of Buick since we've been alive, the Regal GS represents a departure from that brand's stodgy image of vehicles that were made for people in the market for caskets.

The 2011 Buick Regal GS is essentially a re-badged Opel Insignia OPC. In this case we don't mind simply re-badging an Opel Insignia since it has stunning looks and because the car isn't even available of this of the Atlantic (or Pacific for that matter).

Under the hood, the GS packs a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that cranks 225 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Mated to this, is a six-speed transmission that will flick car from 0 to 60 in just under six seconds. Also a little unexpected for a Buick, the GS comes standard with a Brembo brake system that features 14" cross-drilled rotors four-piston calipers and high performance pads.

Inside, the look is totally contemporary and exhibits the right amount of restraint. Everything is jet black, from the headliner to suede covered shifter. The instrument panel has a couple tricks up its sleeve, one of which being that the gauges change to an ice blue color when sport mode is engaged.

All in all, the new Buick Regal GS will be the Buick that saves Buick, now can we get a two door version and bring back the Grand National?
