Kia's entry level SUV, the Sportage, has been redesigned to mark its third generation. As of now, it has yet to be officially released, but we at the CD have the leaked photos and we like what we see.

The new Sportage follows the design markings of its siblings, seemingly an attempt at brand unity. It can be likened to a small-scale Sorento with more interesting crease lines and dressier headlights. The new grill design can also be attributed to the Sorento.

The canted C-Pillar makes room for a rather large rear passenger window but still appears to create a rear blind spot. The leaked Sportage also features some classy wheels that wouldn't look out of place on any Acura or Infiniti. Just more proof that Kia is able to design a quality automobile capable of competing with the best from Japan.

We expect to see the new Sportage unveiled in either the Chicago or New York Auto Show this year. No word yet on any refreshing, new drivetrain features, but they will be posted as details develop.
