Yes that's right, I drive a police car... sort of. More specifically it is a campus security car that was used at Syracuse University. The full name of the car is quite a mouthful, but here we go: Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with Civilian Appearance Package (whew). Don't let its unmolested chrome-trimmed good looks fool you though, underneath it all there is a very unique car.
These cars are widely available, as they have been the car of choice for law enforcement departments around North America for over a decade. Used CVPIs can be a great deal and are available from some dealers, auctions and private sellers. Although some of these are put through a significant amount of abuse, they are designed to outlast and they are also fleet maintained.
It has been about a month since I've gotten this car, and I've put nearly two thousand adventurous college student miles on her. I can say that it undoubtedly has a personality. Check in tomorrow to see if this car will serve you well, or give you the blues.
