Pedalgate has officially turned into recallgate. It looks like every auto manufacturer has been having a few QC problems for the past few years, and we won't be surprised anymore if the list of manufactures continues to increase in the near future.
Nissan is recalling about 260,000 vehicles to fix problems with the brake pedal and fuel gauges. The automaker says that a pin in the brake pedal assemblies on certain 2008 to 2010 Titan pickups and Armada SUVs and some 2008 and 2009 Quest minivans can come loose and cause reduced braking force.
The Japanese automaker is also recalling certain 2005 to 2009 Armadas and Titans, and some 2006 and 2008 Frontier pickups and Xterra and Pathfinder SUVs due to faulty gas gauges. Due to a problem with a sensor inside the fuel tank, the gauge can show the gas tank a quarter full when in fact it's empty.
Nissan suggests keeping a half-tank of gas in the vehicles until the gauges can be repaired, eliminating the risk of running low on fuel. If you have a loose pedal, contact your local Nissan dealer immediately.
Some of the mentioned vehicles are involved in both recalls too.
