Though we did not make it to Geneva, as we all were on Spring Break, there were many surprises. One of which being the 2011 Volvo S60. The S60 is revolutionary in that it is the first car that is equipped with a pedestrian safety system.
Included in the updated version of City Safety, the 2011 Volvo S60 can detect pedestrians and automatically stop the car. This is an improvement over the previous system as it would only activate auto braking when it sensed a car (or most obese of Americans) was in front of you.
One Naughty Volvo
The 2011 S60 was unveiled with a T6, turbocharged six-cylinder engine capable of 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, numbers that are on par with a BMW 335i. The new Volvo S60 will also feature start-stop technology in smaller engines and an all-wheel drive system with torque vectoring for extra power and stability when cornering.
Why are we covering this car?
It's close to graduation time and we figured it's about time we start showcasing some more expensive rides that graduating students who will soon be receiving fat paychecks, can afford. Besides, this car has one of the best designed interiors of any car on the road.
